: K9 Teamwork – Dog Handler Training Courses Overview

: We train you to become responsible dog handlers – 100% guaranteed

By learning simple techniques and putting them into practice K9 Teamwork training courses take you inside your dog’s mind. This is the basis of our courses!

Dogs act by instinct and learned behaviour. They learn by observing how their environment follows set patterns. Dogs love consistency and this builds consistency in you. And they love rules especially if they get treats to learn them. There is no limit to a dog’s ability to learn, just our imagination.

Courses comprise personal one to one lessons that give you confidence as a dog owner and help you understand what goes on in your dog’s mind. The course is self motivated with 6 to 35 hours one on one training. When your sessions start and finish is entirely up to you and there is no pressure. You learn around your own schedule and absolutely control the pace 100%. We are available to guide you 24/7 and you can chat online by WhatsApp, phone, text, email and Zoom. We also have online training blogs for registered members and a Facebook group to share your experiences with other students.

: How we train you to become dog handlers

The number of sessions and content is variable and feature one or more of our five steps, which are tailored to you and your dog. We use Zoom, WhatsApp, phone, text, email or one to one. You learn around your own schedule and absolutely control the pace. We are available 24/7 for advice and support.

: Dogs have five main needs from humans

  1. Having the correct food;
  2. Understanding their psychology;
  3. Having rewards for actions;
  4. Engaged and fulfilling training and;
  5. Being able to work for their food.

Dogs also need work to be happy. If we don’t give them work they will find something to do and that sometimes starts negative behaviour. K9 Teamwork training courses will use any or all of these five needs to teach you how to think like a dog.

An example: We get asked: “How do I stop my dog pulling on the lead?” Our answer: “A lead is not necessary to control a dog. We teach you how to use body language, verbal commands and some treats for motivation. The lead is only for keeping your dog safe.”

: K9 Teamwork Guidelines

1. Dogs have varying attention spans so our training is informal. When you take part in our training you have 100% control of the length of each session and the frequency. You can start and stop at any time for holidays or just for a break. When you want to resume lessons just let us know the time and date, and we will be ready for you.

2. It is important to follow through with any coursework assigned. To complete the training course you need to show practically you understand and can implement the coursework assigned at each lesson before moving forward.

3. The lessons follow a definite pattern as described in the course manual supplied to you when you book a course. As you complete the practical coursework you will notice a change in your behaviour toward your dog and it’s behaviour towards you.

4. Each course is structured into anywhere between 6 hour and 35 hour sections and you will notice yourself how well you progress into being an adequate dog handler. Please try to keep moving forward, adding each training session to your whole learning experience. As most of the course is in your own time is very important that you are sufficiently self motivated for you and your dog’s self esteem.

5. As part of the structure of the coursework we provide a further incentive: You can join our Facebook group, register on our self help website with loads of training tips and tricks, use the WhatsApp, email and phone features to help you complete the coursework. With our Facebook group you can post ideas, videos, events in your area and message other students to compare progress. These features are all included in your payment plan. We would like you to be professional dog trainers, become part of our franchise and help other dog owners.

6. The extra features in your course expand the training into a full time learning experience. You can live video or record experiences and post to our Facebook group to show other members your skills and to fine tune your experience and join in with other video chats using the features in Zoom.

7. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the instructor to arrange each lesson in advance, once they have completed the coursework assigned them.

8. Use our contact details above for 24/7 access to your instructor. You can ask for help at any time.

9. What date your course ends is up to you, but the training sessions are available for the time you have paid for. It is up to you when your training is complete or if you take further training. There is no rush or pressure.

10. At the end of every session you will receive an assessment report with your coursework. We will help you complete the coursework via WhatsApp, text or phone. And through our self help facility at k9teamwork.com/wyd with loads of tips, training and activities.

11. We look forward to feedback from you so we can improve the service. You can post feedback on our self help website: k9teamwork.com/wyd

12. If clarification is needed we can revisit a teaching step. You can also write questions in your coursework, so you remember them when you do your next session. Lots of questions are welcome and make teaching easier. Following through on your questions helps us to understand your needs better.

13. There is absolutely no pressure on the student to complete a set list of instructions within a certain time frame. The total minimum or maximum course length is determined by your dog’s needs.

14. The only requirement is that your dog is comfortable and relaxed, safe and stress free. As we call our company “K9 Teamwork,” we encourage you to bond with your dog and get 100% satisfaction. If you feel this is not happening, tell us straight away.
